B.F.P.S. CELEBRATE THEIR 75TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY
Posted: 5th Mar 2010
Barnet and Finchley Photographic Society celebrated its 75th anniversary during the year 2010. We have gained many new members over the last year or two and the friendly atmosphere we have always enjoyed continues unabated. The new members together with the more mature members are entering photographs into the competitions making the mix of subjects varied and interesting.
We held our annual dinner at The Shire Golf Club recently and once again enjoyed an excellent meal, a glass of wine and very good company. We raised our glasses at the end of the evening wishing BFPS continued success in the future. To celebrate this momentous occasion we have introduced a new cup - THE NEW JUBILEE CUP- this will replace the existing cup that was given to the club by members Alison and Bill Baker 25 years ago to celebrate the 50th anniversary.
We anticipate holding some workshop meetings during this forthcoming year covering various subjects as may be requested by members. These help members to make best use of their cameras. We are also holding a workshop covering Audio Visual Presentations in the hope that we can encourage members to put their images to music.
The Society continues to go from strength to strength and long may this continue. We are striving for success in the various outside battles and competitions that we have the opportunity to enter,
Our members look forward to a successful year and our programme of club evenings offers a wide variety of photographic interest. The committee is confident that all members will enjoy their involvement with the Society and particularly the friendly atmosphere that benefits us all.
